Kent Williams is an Associate in our Business Law group. Prior to attaining his J.D., Kent studied music at Queen’s University, focusing on classical guitar and composition. In law school, Kent obtained practical experience volunteering with the Queen’s Business Law Clinic and completing internships with the Queen’s Prison Law Clinic and the Department of Justice of Canada.
Kent is an active member in the local community, having served as the Queen’s Law Student Liaison and Young Lawyer’s Group Co-Chair with the Frontenac Law Association, and serving as the Kingston Representative of the Young Advocates Standing Committee. He also pursues speaking engagements with local organizations on legal topics of interest and opportunities to volunteer his time on community-based boards.
Kent joined Cunningham Swan’s Business Law group in 2021. His practice is geared towards serving the needs of businesses at all stages of their growth and development, from assisting start-ups and SMEs with their early legal needs to supporting largescale contractual or transactional projects. Kent focuses on adding value to his clients’ businesses by providing efficient, practical, and cost-effective advice.
Prior to joining Cunningham Swan, Kent practiced management-side labour and employment law at a mid-sized regional law firm.
When not at work, Kent enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, working on his latest home improvement project, or playing music in his small home recording studio.
